Give Your Body a Well-Deserved Cleansing
There’s nothing like the lemon juice diet if you want to lose weight in a week. Before you start your diet, you must kick start your digestive system to rid your body of toxins. That however, does not mean fasting. For a whole day, you have to eat a lot of natural food and drink lots of water to help drain your body of toxins, or “detox”. Let’s see how you can do it to in the course of one week.
Start the detoxification process by drinking freshly squeezed lemon juice throughout the day. If you can add 2 teaspoons of organic maple syrup to it, it would taste so much the better. Keep your hunger pangs at bay by drinking homemade vegetable soup or herbal tea whenever necessary. You should not eat or drink anything else. At the end of the day, you will feel much lighter and lost at least half a kg.
Your New Meal Regimen
Now that your body is free of toxins, you can start your new diet. To start, stick to 5 portions of fruit and vegetables a day for a week. Drizzle your food with lemon juice and vinegar to break down the sugar and get your blood sugar levels under control. Do not skip breakfast–eat fruit and if possible rice and wheat bread, or other foods high in fiber. If you feel you must have something sugary, take some honey and munch on a few almonds or walnuts. Don’t forget that you must have a certain quantity of fatty acids in your diet. Oily fish, nuts and olive oil added to your food will make up the 20% of good fats in your diet.
Cut back on dairy products like butter and cheese. A bit of lean meat, however, will do you no harm. A complete stop should be put to any type of processed food and sugar and prepare your own vegetable and fruit juices by using fresh produce, if possible from your own garden, since they will not have any chemicals used on them. Meanwhile, continue taking a glass of fresh lemon juice throughout the day.
A very important step is to remember to chew your food well and take smalls bites. Be aware of the quantities you consume and eat in moderation at regular meal times and never try to rush through your meals. Leave the table when you finish your meal and never ever eat in front of the TV.
Do Not Give Up After a Few Days
Carry on with your routine exercises and stick to your diet. When the week passes, you will definitely feel the difference. Continue with the process adjusting and changing the meals to give it a variety so that you will not get bored with your diet. Very soon, you will find that you feel so much better and never want to return to your earlier ways of eating.
